​Completed Projects

Lake Saracen All-Inclusive Playground: Provided funding to Pine Bluff Parks and Recreation through a grant received from the Simmons First Foundation for three specific pieces of playground equipment.
Funding was also provided by Blue & You Foundation and Arkansas State Parks & Tourism. This will be one of the first inclusive playground areas in Arkansas which will bring children of all abilities and
disabilities together. The estimated completion cost of the playground was $325,000.

Lake Saracen Walking Trail: ​This eight year project was completed in November 2017. The 5 mile trail surrounds Lake Saracen, giving the community a place to walk, run or bike. Funding was provided by the Lake Saracen Project Association, the City of Pine Bluff and the Arkansas Department of Transportation.

Lake Saracen Splash Pad: Assisted with the planning as well as worked with engineers to establish what was needed for the pad and park area. The Splash Pad was completed and in use during the summer of 2015.


Lake Saracen Landing: Played a significant role in collaboration with all partners for the building of Saracen Landing. Along with Simmons Bank, provided electronic sign. As chair of the Lake Saracen Project Association, PBDD’s director wrote grants and received funding towards the $4.5 million dollar project.


Barraque Plaza: In partnership with Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Clean & Beautiful Commission, the Downtown Development Design Committee created Barraque Plaza, a public space designed to be used as a gathering place for fun, food and fellowship.


Barraque Gardens: Located next to Barraque Plaza, this serene garden area was designed and funded with a donation to Downtown Development and honors the memory of Catherine O. Bellingrath.


Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Building: Partnered with many organizations in providing a location for this $10 million facility in downtown Pine Bluff.


Downtown Murals: Twenty-two years after the first of 13 murals was conceived and funded by Downtown Development, restoration work continues to bring all the murals back to their original glory.


Delta River Nature Center: Helped in the efforts to bring the first of the state’s four Nature Centers to the Pine Bluff Area. Provided tile mosaic.


Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame: Assisted in the efforts required in bringing this site to Pine Bluff.


Enchanted Land of Lights and Legends: Helped create this event that draws thousands to Pine Bluff each holiday season.


Reinventing Downtown Plan: Worked with the City of Pine Bluff to provide a four phase reinventing downtown plan for the community. The process took a year to complete.
